Terms & Conditions

These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of maasin.city (the “Site”), operated by Maasin City Online (“we”, “us”, “our”). By accessing or using the Site, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.

1. About the Site

maasin.city is an online platform for the community of Maasin City, Southern Leyte. It brings together a local business directory, events, property and accommodation listings, services, and a marketplace. We provide the platform that connects users with businesses, sellers, and listing owners; unless clearly stated, we do not own, operate, or guarantee the products, services, or listings offered by third parties.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old, or use the Site under the supervision of a parent or guardian. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information when you use the Site, register an account, or submit a listing.

3. Your account

Some features require an account. You are responsible for keeping your login details confidential and for all activity under your account. Notify us immediately at hello@maasin.city if you suspect unauthorised use. We may suspend or close accounts that violate these Terms.

4. Listings and user content

• You are responsible for the accuracy, legality, and quality of any listing or content you submit.
• You must own, or have permission to use, everything you upload (including text and images), and it must not infringe anyone’s rights.
• By submitting content, you grant us a non-exclusive licence to host, display, and promote it on the Site and in related channels.
• Listings are submitted for review and are typically published only after approval. We may edit, decline, or remove any listing or content at our discretion, for example if it is inaccurate, misleading, or violates these Terms.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• post false, misleading, unlawful, infringing, or harmful content;
• impersonate others or misrepresent your affiliation with a business;
• use the Site for spam, scraping, or automated data collection without permission;
• attempt to disrupt, damage, or gain unauthorised access to the Site or its systems; or
• use the Site for any illegal purpose.

6. Paid placements and upgrades

We may offer optional paid features, such as featured or premium listing placements. Prices are shown at the point of purchase and may change. Unless required by law or stated otherwise, fees for placements are non-refundable once the placement has gone live. We may modify or discontinue paid features at any time.

7. Marketplace and orders

Prices are shown in Philippine Pesos (₱). Where you place an order, payment is made through the manual channels offered at checkout (such as GCash, Maya, bank transfer, or cash on delivery). An order confirmation does not guarantee availability, and we or the seller may cancel an order — for example if an item is out of stock or a price was listed in error. Questions about a specific order, delivery, or refund should be directed to us at hello@maasin.city.

8. Dealing with businesses and sellers

Many listings are provided by third parties, and enquiries connect you directly with them. Any dealings, transactions, bookings, or agreements you make with a business, seller, or listing owner are strictly between you and them. We are not a party to those dealings and are not responsible for them. Please verify important details before transacting.

9. Intellectual property

The Site’s design, branding, logos, and original content are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by law. You may not copy, reproduce, or reuse them without our written permission. Content submitted by listing owners remains theirs, subject to the licence granted in section 4.

10. Disclaimers

The Site and its content are provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that listings are accurate, complete, current, or that the Site will be uninterrupted or error-free. We are not responsible for the conduct, products, or services of any business, seller, or third party featured on the Site.

11. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Maasin City Online and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any loss arising from your use of the Site or from your dealings with third parties found through the Site.

12. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claims, losses, or expenses arising from your use of the Site, your content, or your breach of these Terms.

13. Third-party links

The Site may link to third-party websites and pages that we do not control. We are not responsible for their content, policies, or practices. Accessing them is at your own risk.

14. Suspension and termination

We may suspend, restrict, or terminate your access to the Site or any listing at any time, with or without notice, if we believe you have breached these Terms or to protect the Site and its users.

15. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes take effect once posted, and the “Last updated” date will be revised. Your continued use of the Site means you accept the updated Terms.

16. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of the Philippines. Any dispute shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the proper courts of Maasin City, Southern Leyte.
